Position Overview: Boeing Global Safety and Regulatory Affairs team is currently looking for Global Safety and Regulatory Affairs Senior Engineer to join their team in New Delhi, India. The Global Safety and Regulatory Affairs Senior Engineer will support the Product & Services Safety organization as a liaison with Boeing International (India and SE Asia offices), Indian governmental agencies, including the DGCA, and various industry and trade organizations in the country on product, service and regulatory issues and policies. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining and utilizing personal and organizational relationships with applicable regulatory authorities within India in order to support stakeholder alignment and success. They will also monitor and respond to technical developments including certification, safety, and regulatory issues, including coordinating and developing impact assessments fdor regulatory policy changes. In addition, they will be responsible to develop and execute communication strategies and messaging for a variety of stakeholder groups. Finally, they will represent Boeing on committees and at conferences or events within India. This engineering position includes responsibility to analyze regulatory policy impact to Boeing businesses, to develop and execute project plans to support or mitigate those impacts. The selected candidate will build relationships across the regulatory landscape and operational stakeholders, and across Boeing teams to coordinate visibility of response to technical and regulatory issues. Responsibilities include ability to gather, synthe and provide feedback on business intelligence, regional dynamics and trends regarding regulatory policies in the region. The selected candidate should have a background in relevant engineering disciplines, knowledge of regulatory processes and safety processes is critical. The candidate must have a demonstrated record of technical accomplishment, good oral and written communication skills, the ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously, and the initiative and leadership to bring tasks to completion. The position will require a significant amount of interaction with people and leadership, including external stakeholders, so excellent people skills and the ability to negotiate and build consensus are required. This position offers the potential to broaden skills and experience across multiple engineering disciplines. The candidate must be willing to stretch beyond their experience base and be willing to take risks to achieve objectives. The job is best suited to an individual who is self-motivated and is able to provide frequent management visibility. Position Responsibilities: Develops, maintains and utilizes personal and organizational relationships with regulatory authorities within India in order to support stakeholder alignment and success Monitors and responds to technical developments including certification, safety, and regulatory issues, including coordinating and developing impact assessments for regulatory policy changes Develops integrated plans, and establishes and leads cross-organizational teams to respond to regulatory and policy changes or safety initiatives and to proactively advocate for Boeing strategic objectives Develops and executes communication strategies and messaging for a variety of stakeholder groups. BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Technical degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree) from an accredited course of study. (A technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in an engineering, mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study) Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills Fluency in English Candidate must be able to travel up to 25% time. Regional travel will be necessary along with occasional travel to the United States is required Self-motivated, able to work under consultative direction, has excellent people skills, and has the ability to negotiate, build consensus, and deliver results Experience with certification, working with civil aviation regulations, Safety processes, or policy development Experience with integration of technical impacts and plans across multiple functions or Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Works well with diverse group of people Must be willing to stretch beyond their experience base and lead where process definition may not exist or is unclear Experience influencing and building strong relationships with stakeholders and partnerships Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 17 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+16 years’ related work experience.)
